As the influx of migrants in Massachusetts continues to push the state’s shelter system and other resources to the brink, Representative Jake Auchincloss is calling for the Biden administration to send an assessment team of federal Homeland Security officials to Boston to “see with their own eyes that this is not a sustainable scenario.”

“Given the scale of the crisis that Massachusetts is facing, we have to try all the things,” the Newton Democrat said in an interview. “This is one dimension of the multidimensional work.”

The type of assessment Auchincloss is requesting recently played out in New York City, where a Department of Homeland Security assessment team spent four days visiting city shelters and meeting with local officials last month.

But instead of money and resources, Homeland Security officials sent letters to New York city and state officials, which were first reported by Politico, identifying “structural” and “operational” in the city’s response to the crisis and making about two dozen recommendations.

“Our state will completely financially collapse if common sense reform is not executed soon,” Scanlon, a North Attleborough Democrat, warned Auchincloss.

Pacheco and Scanlon aren’t the only state officials asking for the federal government to act.

For months, as thousands of migrants have arrived in the state, local officials have pleaded for Washington to intervene.

In total, more than 6,800 families are currently housed in the state’s shelter system.

“The significant influx of new arrivals . . . shows no sign of abating,” Healey wrote in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sept. 7. “We have no choice but to meet this moment.”

Among attendees on the Thursday call was state Senate President Karen E. Spilka, who said Thursday that state leaders are “doing all we can to help the desperate families who are arriving here in ever-increasing numbers.”

“The guy’s running for president. He better start paying attention to this,” House Speaker Ronald J. Mariano said of President Biden at a bill signing Wednesday.

At a separate event on Thursday, he said, “Unless we get help, we are going to have some difficult decisions.”

Two evident points of note:
1. Massachusetts has created this mess with the unintended consequence of the right to shelter law and its active encouragement of migration to the state.
2. This state has zero clout at the federal level now. Stark difference from the recent past.

Milwaukee Steve10/06/23 - 9:21AM

If the government steps in and helps Mass. then Biden has to help 49 other states and we know that’s not going to happen. We are on our own folks, we have been thrown under the bus by Biden, Warren and Markey.
These buses are not going to stop coming for a long time as Washington doesn’t seem to care.

RSull10/06/23 - 9:59AM

This is not a temporary problem, and will effect almost every citizen. This can't be undone. Come election time, Democrats will be screaming about the abortion issue, while Republicans remind everyone how this effects their wallets and diminished resources for our own needy. Democrats and low income minorities should be the most POd.

g-inthebag10/06/23 - 10:50AM

At some point we will all recognize the Democrat party is being run by radicals supported by a biased media.
On immigration these radicals want open borders
On crime they oppose the police
On gender issues they want boys on girls sports teams.
In total they want chaos
They need to go.

WashingtonMD10/06/23 - 12:17PM

You're a Democrat from a sanctuary city. Your ilk is to blame, Jake!

Tepster41810/06/23 - 5:23AM

A total failure of government on all levels. Insanity.

NicksterNH10/06/23 - 7:46AM

What's funny is how Democrats are so shocked and surprised that this is even happening. You guys created a bunch of sanctuary cities, and then you took in anyone who sneaked over the border illegally and gave them free food, clothing, housing, healthcare, education, etc. And now they can't understand why so many more are coming here? A toddler could've predicted this.

sbask10/06/23 - 7:58AM

And I hope readers noticed that as yet the BG has not cover yesterday’s story that was on nationally and on WBZ TV locally. Veterans and families had their hotel reservations cancelled in the Foxboro area for the Army-Navy game to be played at Gillette, so that these hotels can be assigned as shelters.
HEALY AND LEGISLATURE: CHANGE THE LAW TO MAKE IT CITIZENS AND OFFICIAL GREEN CARD AND VISA HOLDERS ONLY!

MA wanted to be a sanctuary state… I mean what would Jesus do?

Christianity came to be when the world's population was a fraction of what it is now. Yes, we need to be kind to one another but the Bible doesn't say that you have the responsibility to undermine your own and your family's security and well-being to accommodate invaders of your homeland.

Porte!10/06/23 - 9:30AM

I'm surprised Healey's "firmly worded letter" didn't open the Treasury vault.

It's 5 times that, and that's just for housing - doesn't include healthcare, school for kids, food and legal assistance, phones, police, etc. And those costs will be growing. That will undermine our social safety net. Our people who need help will suffer. Everyone's taxes will have to go up. We will be getting poorer because of democrats' idiocy and lack of responsibility.

We all knew there wouldn’t be any mention of the Biden wall.
When open minded people read BG we can see that articles against the GOP can stay in the BG.com for up to 10 days and start out on the front page.
Anything negative to Dems is gone in 24 hours or quickly edited so that-the negative comments disappear. It’s magic.

orient heightened alert10/06/23 - 6:08AM

"State officials and immigration advocates argue that the federal government’s long backlog of work permit applications has become a key obstacle in helping migrants exit the shelters and live independently."

Reality check: What's the earning potential of a typical "asylum seeker" without a college degree? Many migrants in the shelters have 2 or more kids. Can the parent/s secure a job that pays a living wage that will cover their rent and day-to-day expenses?

Capelab10/06/23 - 6:51AM

"My name is Consuela. I am 20 years old, have 3 kids, speak broken english, minimal education, no money, no real job skills, nowhere to live." How is someone like that crossing the border expected to make a living here? It's hard enough for two college educated professionals to support a family around here. Obviously she is going to require government assistance her whole life.

JeanMarie6710/06/23 - 6:59AM

No we will have to pay for those too and then they'll be place in our public housing system ahead of US citizens.

user_382027510/06/23 - 6:57AM

"Then seal the border."

Can we count on you to staff one of the machine gun towers and mow down women and children? I think we can.

Blazer2710/06/23 - 9:25AM

I would not shoot anyone but I'm sure there are numerous Troopers or cops who would be happy with that assignment

BlueToPurple10/06/23 - 10:24AM

The idea of protecting a country's border by potentially shooting at those who are crossing it without permission is not a new one. Many countries used to have, and still do, heavily guarded borders. In reality, not many people get killed or injured trying to cross because just knowing that it may happen is an effective deterrent.

You just need to have politicians who have the guts to do what is right and issue orders and policies that are needed (hence, Trump's enduring popularity). Biden and his party are useless in that regard.

ZarinaWins10/06/23 - 6:23AM

Massachusetts held itself out as a sanctuary state, and now the "hate has no home here" crowd is whining. More and more illegals will be coming into this state since the word is out that free housing, food, cell phones are being handed out on the Massachusetts' taxpayers dime.

Enjoy! This is what you all voted for.

Nimrodman10/06/23 - 12:13PM

Make sure the buses make it into Weston, Brookline, Wellesley, Arlington, Winchester, Dover, et al. I know they have many nice hotels available. See how that goes.

Rush Inbot10/06/23 - 6:38AM

I don't remember this being a problem while the previous president was in office.

The only immigration problem that the previous president faced was the Democrats and the media saying how mean he was for building a wall, forcing asylum seekers to stay in other countries, and actually enforcing our existing immigration laws.

Now we can see that our previous president was handling immigration correctly.

Rush Inbot10/06/23 - 10:45AM

User, Trump’s sanctions on Venezuela are not the cause of Venezuela’s problems. Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in this hemisphere and is able to trade their plentiful oil with about 199 other countries. (Remember Joe Kennedy and his Joe 4 Oil commercials? Haven’t seen any of those lately.)

Venezuela’s problems were caused by their voters electing Hugo Chavez and the socialist paradise that he promised. As is always the case with socialism, the paradise is never as good as advertised. And of course, you can only vote for socialism once.

To all of the Venezuelan’s reading this - I have no sympathy for you. You freely voted for your mess. You need to own it. I will always vote for the candidates that will send you back home as quickly as possible where you can work on installing a better government for yourselves. But I will thank you for being a warning to everybody here in the United States that supports Bernie Sanders - you have demonstrated where his policies lead.

Waterfall0810/06/23 - 7:28AM

I'm confused by it all especially since Trump built a Border Wall that Mexico paid for. How are they getting in ? Plane ?

BlueToPurple10/06/23 - 10:36AM

Waterfall - Trump promised the wall, and built some of it, but then, his administration instituted the "remain in Mexico" policy, which kept asylum seekers (including the fake ones) out of our territory. It worked. Biden revoked it when he became president. Now, we have the consequences.

The Trump haters here will never admit it, but Trump was largely effective in protecting the country against illegal immigration. I might prefer a different GOP nominee for president next year, but if he is the nominee, I will gladly vote for him on this issue alone. We have no choice. Either we get a president who can handle this properly, or we will lose our country.

twinsforlife10/06/23 - 10:00AM

And the state pays these hotels $350.00 a night per room. I don't know anyone who would pay anything close to that to stay in one of those hotels. It's bad enough to pay anything, but disgusting to pay a premium rate for illegal immigrants.

Brookline10/06/23 - 7:05AM

Why is this a problem? Massachusetts voted for people who champion this approach to illegal immigration.

Mr. Rolex10/06/23 - 7:18AM

I agree. The people are getting what they voted for. Thats the beauty of democracy.

BlueToPurple10/06/23 - 10:56AM

Actually, we don't have real democracy when the main-stream media carry water for democrats and help them win elections by burying important stories and brainwashing voters

PogMoThoin50410/06/23 - 8:10AM

Even if they are allowed to work - they will NEVER be able to afford to live independently without taxpayer assistance - especially in a high cost of living state like Massachusetts. NEVER. This is a complete disaster.

Waterfall0810/06/23 - 7:34AM

Companies should be able to replace current workers with these immigrants and save a fortune on Labor and Fringe Benefits. Profits will soar

BlueToPurple10/06/23 - 11:05AM

Waterfall - and are you in favor of that?

Democrats lie that they care about working class Americans, and then they open the border to let in cheap labor that undermines our workers. Total treason.

Are we all contacting our state legislators at every level to tell them this law needs to be adapted with a minimum previous residency requirement or citizenship clause or possibly repealed completely? We can't just complain in the comments section.

The numbers that have come to Mass are nothing compared to what they will be in the next decade or two if we allow this to continue. Biden and the Dems must have done some polling and realized the border being bum rushed by thousands every single day is a much bigger issue for people. They backtracked on not building a wall and now are publicly revealing how they are deporting migrants. Too little too late.

BlueToPurple10/06/23 - 1:02PM

Zarina - you don't know where those migrants landing in Massachusetts are coming from. Gov. Abbott may have nothing to do with that. The migrants cross the border and are met by NGO workers who are funded by the Biden administration, and they bus the migrants around the country.

The Biden administration is the biggest human trafficker in our history. They have admitted millions of un-vetted and unemployable people and are dumping them on states and their taxpayers. Gov. Abbott is a hero for what he is dealing with in Texas. Dems accuse Trump of treason, but what Biden has been doing with respect to the border is treason too.

guidedbyf810/06/23 - 8:34AM

The same people that cry how all Republicans are fascists are doing everything they can to get one elected. Almost funny.

Bluenote5510/06/23 - 7:40AM

For the first time in my life I’ll be voting republican in 2024 (as long as it’s not Orangeman on the ticket). Republicans, PLEASE nominate anyone but him. What is going on at the border is the last straw for me. Our two senators like to “preach” to us regularly but where are they now? The people coming here probably speak no English and many have several children each, not to mention they are here illegally. So we are going to shelter them, feed them, school them all on our dime? DO we give them driver’s licenses too? Maybe throw in a car so they can get around!

AllenJose10/06/23 - 8:02AM

The democratic party is a sham. Deport ALL the illegals in the country and withhold financial aid to the countries of origin until the total cost for supporting them in the first place is paid for. The democrats only wanted them for cheap slave labor just like they supported slavery way back when. Vote out all democrats and save our country.

Working Wizard10/06/23 - 8:04AM

Biden is to blame for the fact that 6*/- million illegal immigrants have swarmed over the border during his term. But Healy, Campbell, Warren and Markey are to blame for the fact that they are coming here. For years, these virtue-signaling liberals have condemned immigration enforcement, flaunted our sanctuary status, and offered an all-you-can-eat smorgasbord of free health care, education, translation services, housing,
And if non-cooperation with immigration authorities isn’t enough, the state actually grants millions of dollars in legal aid to help immigrants fight deportation.
A child of six could have predicted the disaster that would result, but not these geniuses. Even now, their solution is to ask the federal government to give more aid and work permits. The house is on fir and they are demanding more gasoline.

Our congressional delegation has failed us. Please think about this the next time you vote. The members' great strength is to talk in circles.

Disorderly immigration has to stop, eventually will cause a social imbalance, there is no way to know the subject's background, there are no ways to verify; there are cases of individuals that are avoiding jail terms for murder and cross the border; I do advocate for immigration in an orderly way and I also agree that once become a resident the individual must adhere to the law of common sense "learn the language" that a long will open the opportunities for you..

user_398260410/06/23 - 8:12AM

Jake Auchincloss is a very interesting young leader articulate, great education, US Marine, family man, and good values. Advocating to shovel more money, now Federal, at a problem of Gov Healey's creation is a mistake on his part. She is hiding from questions and instead putting him out front to take the fire. Craven on her part, unwise on his. The Globe is not covering the real story because owners of the Globe are pro Healey and have business interests before the state,

Gov Healey created, and is perpetuating, this problem and is in hiding. Federal money is not the answer. Healey has a RESPONSIBILITY to tell voters and citizens who is in the State for public health and safely reasons. (I am pro legal immigration btw).

There is a VERY good story here about how our government does not work:= and who the rule of law applies to:

1.) Gov Healey's has been funding an NGO devoted to Haitian migration in Mattapan,/www.ifsi-usa.org, whose Founder and E Director, Gerarde Gabeau, has insisted Gov Healey NOT count migrants. Our Gov. fell in line and reversed Gov Bakers policy of actually counting and vetting who is in the state. Healey has abrogated control and now wants someone else to take responsibility. Ifsi-usa.org funds the transportation of Haitian's into the State with State money. The vast majority in shelters are Haitian families, who in their copious leisure times are expanding their families or came here pregnant, not directly from Haiti but from other locations with fewer benefits.

Healey is creating the problem. Rather than fix it she seeks to expand the problem. Healey recently updated our Office of Immigrants Website to offer more benefits than we offer our own citizens. We are paying rich benefits for Haitian migrants (not in danger). Healey is not giving citizens any information because this is a system of her making. There is absolutely no way in which this group of people will not require expensive subsidies for life. Few have basic reading and math skills.

From the Governors office-for-refugees-and-immigrants:

Education, Youth, Health & Other Services (ORI)

Refugee School Impact Program (RSI)
Supports local public school districts in fostering high academic and social success among refugee youth.

Refugee Youth Mentoring (RYM)

Unaccompanied Refugee Minors Program (URMP)
Collaboratively administered between ORI and the MA Department of Children and Families, provides residential and foster care services to refugee minors arriving in the U.S. without parents or guardians.

“Communities rely on nonprofit and faith-based organizations for essential social services, spiritual support, and guidance,” said Governor Maura Healey. “Our Administration is deeply committed to ensuring these vital organizations have the tools and resources needed to create safe, inclusive, and protected environments. These federal funds provide critical support to our nonprofit and faith communities while strengthening Massachusetts’ ability to uphold our values and celebrate our diversity.”

Healey should come out of her bunker and stand in front of her voters and taxpayers and tell us what we are paying for.

She should also make a donation from her own "Social Welfare" organization her tax exempt 501 (c)3 to MS. Gabeau's organization. Healey keeps the donors and amounts of donations 501 (c) 3 - you guessed it - SECRET.

The Henry -Pizzutti - Fenway Sports group is on the list. You will not be finding any ground breaking news about Gov Healey's self created "migrant crisis" in The Boston Globe.
This treatment of a selected group is as Gov Healey would say - inequitable.

INFORMATION IS POWER - Contact the Governor and The Globe and DEMAND information.

There was a little item in yesterday's Globe that likely (hopefully for some) went unnoticed. Brockton is or has treated ten patients for TB. What was missing from the article was the facts that show that: In the entire county of Plymouth, which Brockton belongs to, only 7 patients were treated in all last year. Haiti is considered the most TB infected country in the entire Western Hemisphere. Brockton is home to an exceptionally large population of Haitians that fled the Boston area because of housing costs. There is also a well-coordinated Haitian resource center there to help with employment, education, medical treatment as well as avoiding being returned to Haiti.

Tree Farmer10/06/23 - 8:28AM

What is absolutely remarkable is that our state legislatures literally made it a LAW that the State pay for housing for these people. They not only hamstringed the way the State must manage these illegals, but they forced us to spend tax dollars on them.

My solution: Eliminate the Mass law requiring the State to house illegal (and legal...) immigrants. Eliminate it. THEN, start contacting your democratic senators and congressmen/women (Warren, etc.) and tell them 'enough of this, already, manage the darn border!'. Shut the southern border, folks, THAT is the ROOT CAUSE of all this malarky. Implement a more thoughtful and slow and organized/logical entry into the USA, not the free-for-all that the Biden administration has implemented.

A warning to all Democrats. This border crisis has been created by Biden/Harris. If you want to win the 2024, this is the one issue that could cost Dems the election. Sure, the economy is HUGE, but, that is not nearly so easily fixed. The BORDER CRISIS is EASILY fixed. National Guard, close the border, build, quickly, more walls/fences and implement a 'if we catch you, we fly you back to Venezuela in a plane'.

Buckospal10/06/23 - 11:34AM

The law enacted specifically stated that eligibility was limited to citizens of the US. It also was focused on woman with children. Your Progressive Governor has trampled the intent of OUR law simply to satisfy her own cause.

HadEnoughNow10/06/23 - 8:43AM

We are loosing our country. It has made it "them against us". As a country we will no longer be able to support the world. We have no idea who is here illegally as it is catch and release at the boarder. My kids will not stand a chance at a life of prosper. We will all be working to pay taxes to support people who want a check from the government, This is from both legal and illegal immigrants. And also some born and breed here, This is going to collapse our systems and cause failure of the financial, judicial and health care systems.
Then what will we do.

Metro Kid10/06/23 - 9:46AM

"Massachusetts’ 1983 “right-to-shelter” law obligates officials to immediately house eligible families, pressing them to find shelter options on short notice."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolute total BS - this law does not - REPEAT - does not apply to illegal immigrants. Healey's convenient interpretation is purposeful in order to steer culpability away from herself and her unfettered support for Biden and his illegal flaunting of immigration laws.

Here's the main tenants of the law and what Healey and the Globe very conveniently won't discuss:

Quote Section 1, Sections A and D:

"Said program of emergency assistance shall assist eligible families to prevent destitution or to provide living arrangements in the home.

The department shall promulgate rules and regulations to establish the levels of benefits available under the program and to ensure simplicity of administration in the best interest of needy recipients. Such benefits shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

(a) for the *prevention of the loss of housing* , the actual liability up to four times the monthly rental or mortgage liability
(b) for the prevention of utility shutoffs or for the resumption of utility services, up to four months of the actual service liabilities;
(c) for the provision of home heating assistance, up to four months of the actual fuel liabilities;

(d) for the **prevention of homelessness** , **temporary shelter as necessary to alleviate homelessness** when such family has no feasible alternative housing available, up to the maximum period subject to federal reimbursement; storage of furniture for up to thirty days; moving expenses of up to one hundred and fifty dollars; advance rent payments of one month's rent; and security deposit not to exceed one month's rent.

- - Notice how the law is worded – “prevention of the loss of housing - prevention of homelessness, loss of utilities, reimbursement for furniture, moving expenses.”

>> The law is geared toward people WHO ALREADY HAD A HOME - ALREADY HAD AN ADDRESS - with a previously established residence in the state. They were ALREADY paying utility bills, paying for furnishings. Illegal Aliens do not have an address - they do not have utility bills - they have no furnishings - because they are here illegally, hence the description.

Healey and the Globe are pulling a Biden - purposely twisting the interpretation of MA state law to fit their agenda.

It's dishonest and reprehensible for a Governor and a media organization to be doing this, full well knowing this illegal immigration situation is catastrophic and caused by them - WHICH THEY PROMOTED FOR YEARS.

The proof that Healey and Autchincluck are lying? Here's the latest press release from Mayorkas on the border:

"There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers [THE WALL] and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas pursuant to sections 102(a) and 102(b) of [the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996],"

That statement was carried by every media group accept Liberals. Then Mayorkas blabs a bunch of Doubletalk to keep Progressive nuts from going berserk, and the Lib media was forced to print it, quote, CBS News:

"Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Thursday rebuffed growing criticism over his decision to approve the construction of more than a dozen miles of border walls along the U.S.-Mexico border, saying the Biden administration was bound by law to follow through with the project."

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/border-wall-biden-mayorkas-criticism/

When is the Globe and these Liberal lying gaslighters like Auchincluck going to get a grip and stop lying - stop pushing their own purposely convoluted version of state laws to fit their humanitarian crusades at MA taxpayer expense?

- - We are NOT - REPEAT - NOT on the hook for the well-being of the 3rd World.

- - - AND STOP LYING, DUMP YOUR PHONY AGENDA AND START OBEYING FEDERAL LAWS.

Sherbornisbest10/06/23 - 11:45AM

Healey has made it easier to access the shelter system. For example, now can take up to 30 days to provide the required paperwork with several NGOs now available to assist.

Healey saw this coming (Now, 10X more in hotels than when she became Governor) and yet has still not called for suspending the outdated and dysfunctional right to shelter law.

Healey has not been as diligent as Baker in reducing families & kids in hotels. He had it down to single digits for most of 2021. There are now 3,100 under Healey.

Healey has been sheltering 3X as many DeSantis MV flights EVERY WEEK for five months.

Healey said she was spending $100,000 per family per year (8/8/2023. $45 million a month, 5,500 families). Still did not call for suspending the law and instead declared a state of emergency. There are now 25% more families in the system.

Healey is not transparent. There is little reporting. The above would suggest $270 a day for migrant families. However, reporting from New York says they are spending $383 per day for migrant families.

I just keep hoping that I’m just having a bad dream. Could anyone here ever envision what’s happening today with all these illegal immigrants flooding our country? The pictures of these illegal immigrants always seem to be 90% young men in their 20’s. We are not vetting any of these people they could be terrorists, murders or who know what. This is not going to end well folks.

Yup, countries like Venezuela and Mexico are emptying their prisons with the not so subtle directive to go to America. Why should they house and feed the worst of their worst when the US and its feeble idiot leader will do it for them.

What is amazing is that we as Americans are so cowardly. The current administration allowed a literal invasion which threatens our economy and our culture… threatens the essence of what it means to be an American. And we have done nothing…
BLM protests destroyed cities. Outrage over the death of one person.
We have the murder of our country by the Biden administration…. And nothing but crickets….

'6,800 families are currently housed in the state’s shelter system'. That's a very big number - seems a lot bigger than even a few months ago. Not sure what that means in total people. I agree with many commenters that taxpayer citizens should be respected by getting frequent & comprehensive information on what has become a serious problem.

Numbo aka Biden is rounding third base headed for home. He leaving behind millions of illegals who are unable to take of themselves. He’s telling everyday Americans get out of the way if you don’t like it. Just look around, crime is out control, food and energy prices are at all time high and schools are a disaster. And Numbo had plenty of help from his fellow Democrats.

Increase revenue? Wth prices out of sight as it is. Where is the tax payer supposed to get the money? And if we must pay it in taxes there will have to becuts in spending for us , then there will be hue and cry about no money coming in for the merchants, etc, so their taxes will be less . It's a visous cycle. As it is the young people I know, all legal citizens cannot afford to buy a house or have children, yet we take in more and more illegals, house them, feed thm . I'm sorry for them too but we should be trying to fix the places they came from, not just putting a bandage on the wound.

It’s great and virtuous to be a sanctuary city/state until the illegals actually come. Then it’s, well I didn’t mean in my backyard. Hypocritical and sanctimonious fools. The liberal way.

We don't need the Feds to send in an assessment team-- just turn on the the news to any station other than CNN and you'll see the problem. According to CNN, there is no problem at all. Every other new outlet is finally starting to wake up-- even democrat mayors and governors are finally starting to say out loud what everyone on a border state has known for years---- the country is being over run. You can't keep encouraging illegal immigration and then acting surprised when it actually happens.

The mainstream media has been ignoring the fiasco in the border for years now. They are complicit in this complete disaster.

Healey believes in Right to Shelter of Illegal Aliens?  Well MA has the Right to Recall.

- - - Healey needs to be recalled as she is proving to be completely untrustworthy.

Per Article 8, Massachusetts Declaration of Rights:

"Embedded in the Massachusetts “frame of government”, citizens have the right to recall public officers through the ballot box, in the case of elected officials, or through other means built into the statutes. For example, judges may be removed by the Commission on Judicial Conduct, ** the Governor** , with the consent of the Governor’s Council, or by impeachment and conviction by the Legislature."

The UN and NGO affiliated with are implementing a "replacement" strategy in the U.S. and Europe. They want to take down these countries because they want Communism. So, they flood them with people who are not from democracies. It's working.

Massachusetts is #11 for highest homelessness rate per capita
But, #2 for highest homeless household/family rate after NY
(As of Jan 2022, HUD Annual Homeless Assessment Report)

Massachusetts has a Homeless Household rate 3-4X higher than the national average, California, Minnesota, New Hampshire, or Rhode Island.

6X higher than Connecticut or Florida. 9X higher than Texas or South Carolina.

Massachusetts is the only state with a statewide right-to-shelter law covering families. The 1983 law is outdated, dysfunctional, and was never intended for newly arrived migrant families. It must be suspended, changed, or repealed.
