Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off, Paper Shredding, Clothing andTextiles
No Latex/Acrylic paint allowed (It Is Not Hazardous)

West Roxbury Public Works Yard
315 Gardner Street, Millennium Park

Residents may bring up to 50 pounds of products labeled toxic, flammable, reactive, corrosive, or poisonous, such as: oil-based paint, motor oil, pesticides, solvents, glues, bleach or ammonia-based cleaners, weed killers, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, tires, propane tanks, car batteries, and used motor oil. Materials will be safely disposed of free of charge.

For Paper Shredding: Paper Shredding will be available at both location.Residents may bring up to 20 boxes of paper to be shredded and recycled

Electronics are not accepted. Televisions and Computer monitors are collected curbside by appointment. Call 617-635-4500 or online at www.cityofboston.gov/recycle to schedule.

No commercial waste will be accepted. Proof of residency required!

 
 

Hazardous Waste Days just got Greener!
We are happy to announce you may now recycle your clothing and textiles at BOTH June Hazardous Waste Drop off sites. (June 13th at UMass Boston and June 27th at West Roxbury DPW Yard)
 
Good, Bad and Ugly accepted! Missing buttons, broken zippers and stained as long as its dry and not moldy. we want it!* Everything will be reused or recycling.
 
*Carpets, rugs, oil rags, mattresses, wet or mildewed items are NOT acceptable*
 
 

Boston Public Works Paint Swap & Drop-off.

 
Do you have paint from old projects laying around and haven't had the time to dry them out to put out with your regular trash? Or do you have a project that you could use free paint or stains? Come visit one of our following sites!
 
Public Works hosts Saturday swap shops for surplus paint, stains and varnishes. You may also drop off used motor oil. Its open to all Boston residents (Proof of residency required)
 
 
  • June 20, 2015: Hyde Park DPW Yard, 58 Dana Ave Directions
  • July 18, 2015: Brighton DPW Yard, 315 Western Ave Directions
