Remembering Jeannette Cardia,
Cherished Member of the FOFL Community

On March 9th, our community lost one of its brightest lights, Jeannette Cardia.
Jeannette was a beautiful mother, friend, neighbor, advocate, volunteer, soul... She did so very much for our community - from her dedication to her beloved Faneuil Branch Library, where she served as Treasurer and Vice President, to her generous volunteering
at the Allston-Brighton Food Pantry, where she gave her time and shared her amazing baking skills.
It is not enough to say that we will miss Jeannette's intelligent conversations, her lovely flower hats, her stories, her encouragement, her gentle manner, her endless smiles... it is just not enough.
What remains is to feel sad - for a while - then to take comfort in our memories with her and share them and find ways to honor her.
Jeannette is being memorialized at the Lehman, Reen, McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave. (near the Brighton Courthouse), in Brighton. Visiting hours there will take place Tuesday, March 15th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Relatives, friends and community
members are kindly invited to attend.
Relatives, friends and community members are also invited to attend her funeral, which will be at the Lehman, Reen, McNamara Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 16th, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 28 Commonwealth Ave.,
Chestnut Hill at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale.

Friends of Faneuil Library is staying active during this time, and we are happy to keep the community informed. The long-planned renovation for the Faneuil Branch at Oak Square has necessitated temporary closure of the branch.
Continued activities are currently virtual and will be in-person at alternate locations once the situation allows for this.
