Dear ABHC members and friends,

If you've ever visited the Brighton Farmers Market, you know you're bound to find delicious food, friendly faces, and a fun way to catch up with neighbors. What you might not know is that the team at the Allston Brighton Health Collaborative begins planning the June-through-October season in February. Since 2016, we make sure that there is a safe, accessible and affordable place to buy locally grown produce, sustainably caught fish, delicious treats made in small batches, and some of your favorite foods from local vendors.

Next summer, the Brighton Farmers Market turns 10! Will you celebrate its birthday early with us?

CONTRIBUTE TODAY
In 2016, the Allston Brighton Health Collaborative (ABHC) partnered with ABCD, Brighton Main Streets, and the Presentation School Foundation to launch Brighton's first farmers market. In 2019, the market moved to Brighton Common and ABHC took on full market management. Since then, the market has been open each year from June through October. We are an essential food source and have never closed, even during Covid!

This reliable market where hundreds of shoppers use their SNAP/HIP benefits is now at risk due to federal funding cuts. Your gift can keep the market open! Here's what you will support:
  1. 21 weeks of locally grown produce, sustainably caught fish, freshly baked goods and delicious prepared foods.
  2. The ONLY neighborhood location where people can use their State Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) benefits in the summer and fall.
  3. A joyful community gathering space with live music, children's programs, and so much more.

Your donation today helps ensure that this food access lifeline continues in 2026.

Want a delicious way to support the market and get some dinner? Pledge to Buy Pizza!

From 4–9:30 PM on December 16th, a portion of proceeds from every flatbread pizza sold at American Flatbread Brighton will go to the Brighton Farmers Market.

Hanging out at home or with friends? Order a pizza.
Got room in your freezer? Order a bunch of pizzas.
Want to double your impact? Order a pizza for a neighbor in a local English Language program. Details below!

In 2025, the market became even more important. With the federal cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the State's SNAP rebate program, HIP, was a lifeline. The Brighton Farmers Market is one of the few places in Boston where people could use this rebate. We need to make sure that, no matter what happens in Washington, the Brighton Farmers Market remains a place where anyone can access healthy local food. Our friends at BMC Brighton, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and the office of State Senator Will Brownsberger have already pitched in and we hope you will too!

So if you love your samosas, strawberries and salad greens, please give now, and pledge to buy pizza on December 16! More details below.
