Registration is now open for the 2026 Civic Summit: We the People! Dear Boston Community, We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2026 Civic Summit: We the People, taking place on Saturday, August 1, at Boston University's Questrom School of Business, 595 Commonwealth Avenue, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Civic Summit is a free, half-day event that brings together emerging and experienced civic leaders to learn from one another, build meaningful relationships, and strengthen civic engagement across Boston. This year's theme, We the People, reflects on the 250th anniversary of our nation's founding and invites participants to explore the evolving meaning of democracy, civic participation, and belonging. This year's Summit will feature a dynamic lineup of conversations and interactive sessions, including: A Fireside Chat with Mayor Michelle Wu, moderated by Kwani Lunis, Edward R. Murrow Award-winning journalist and NBC10 Boston anchor. A featured panel in Public Assembly & Civic Action, moderated by Dart Adams, with Lew Finfer, Joline Brito, and Diane Dwyer, exploring the role of public assembly, free speech, and community organizing in shaping democracy. Four interactive breakout sessions: We the Storytellers—The Power of Community Storytelling with Moses Sibley (Made by Mojo). Advocating to Meet Your Goals Through Influence and Negotiation Skills with Professor Moshe Cohen of Boston University. Keeping Boston Housed: A Community Conversation on Housing Stability & Eviction Prevention, featuring Danielle Johnson, Director of the Office of Housing Stability, and Paige Roosa, Director of the Mayor's Housing Innovation Lab. Collaborating Across Divisions: Why is it so Hard and How Can We Make it Work? with Professor Rodrigo Canales of Boston University. A networking social hour hosted by Amanda Shae, spoken word artist, educator, filmmaker, and artivist. During registration, participants will be asked to select one breakout session to attend. To ensure everyone can benefit from the day's programming, recordings of all breakout sessions will be made available following the event. A light lunch will be provided. Please note that we are unable to accommodate walk-ins or unregistered guests. Registration and the full agenda are available now at boston.gov/civic-summit. Last year's Civic Summit reached capacity in less than 24 hours, and space is once again limited to 300 participants. We encourage you to register as soon as possible to reserve your spot.
