Virtual Liquor License Upgrade Public Hearing
Boston Licensing Board
Tuesday, October 21, 2025, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
As you may be aware, the City of Boston has accepted M.G.L. ch. 138 s. 12D (as codified by Chapter 9 of the Acts of 2025). This change would permit the Licensing Board for the City of Boston (the “Board”) to allow licensees permitted to sell only wines and
malt beverages pursuant to M.G.L. ch. 138 s. 12 to trade in said license and be issued a non-transferable all alcoholic beverages license.
The enabling legislation allows the Board to establish additional requirements. To that end, please be advised that the Board has scheduled a public hearing to afford all licensees and the public an opportunity to be heard regarding any potential changes.
Registration is required:
Public testimony begins at 2:00pm
You are welcome to attend this hearing but are not required to do so. If you are unable to attend but would like to submit written comments for the Board’s consideration, you may submit written testimony in email to
licensi...@boston.gov.
