Corrections

Did you know that if you have a defective black trash barrel that was provided to you back in 2009 as part of Harvard University’s community outreach regarding rodent control, contact the City via 311 (web or app), go to “Other”, identify yourself as a North Allston/North Brighton resident and make it known you need a black trash barrel replacement? The PWD Sanitation department will forward the request to the company that has the contract and the barrel will be replaced on a Friday. The original barrels came with a 10 year warranty. (Editor's Note: There has been a great deal of confusion as to whether a barrel replacement program exist.  Amy Mahler, Allston-Brighton Neighborhood Coordinator, Office of Neighborhood Services, is researching the issue and will have more information in the future.  In the interim, please refrain from using 311 to order replacement barrels.)
