Dear friends and neighbors of Ringer Park,
Thank you for your patience with the ongoing construction of the Improvements to Ringer Park! Construction is well underway, and we are making steady progress. As requested by the community, Omasta Landscaping is working to open one of the pathways for pedestrian access, but due to construction sequencing and some complex unforeseen site conditions, we do not anticipate either pathway being safely open until March 2026. If that timeline changes, I will let you know.
I’m writing with a few updates:
1) the contractor will be receiving material deliveries through the Greylock Road park entrance tomorrow Thursday, November 20, 2025. A police detail will be on site to help direct traffic during these deliveries. If possible, please avoid traveling on Allston Street that day to minimize delays.
2) I've received a few questions about the removal of the existing solar lights and I wanted to provide some context. After an in-depth assessment of the solar lights (several were broken or breaking), and coordinating with the West End House and Boston Street Lighting, BPRD will replace the solar lights with more consistent and reliable pedestrian lights, which will be connected to the Boston Street Lighting system. The plan is to provide lighting for a route through the park from Gordon Street to Allston Street.
Going forward, I will plan to post construction updates to the project webpage once a month or so to save your email inboxes, but please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work to bring this project to completion.
Best,
Nellie
