Project Oscar (named after the Sesame Street character) is Boston’s 24-hour community compost pilot program.

The City is looking for input on potential locations for public composting bins where residents can drop off food waste gathered at home for collection. Residents are asked to propose new locations for composting bins by taking a short survey available via the following link:

This pilot program currently has only one Allston Brighton community compost bin at Faneuil Gardens Apartments in the west parking lot across from McKinney Playground.
