Beloved,

It's been an adventure! You know that I finished my first triathlon earlier this month . Thank you for all of your prayer support and encouragement. They pushed me across the finish line. From Sven getting me those "neck coolers," to Roz's voice in my head saying,"Pfft, you'll do it," to the text from Dave on the night before race day that said, "God's love surrounds you."
I had a great time on vacation. I returned ready and refreshed. The COVID antigen test said, "Not so fast!" Two and a half years, I managed to stay COVID free. I called my doctor. I have been in isolation for 6 days. As of today, I tested negative. However, I will broadcast from home tomorrow morning.  I will return to the office this week wearing my mask at all times. Your prayers, calls and many acts of kindness fill me with gratitude.
Thank you for continuing to observe COVID-19 protocols for gathering in person and safeguarding each other's health.
God's blessings,
Pastor

A FEW HOUSEKEEPING NOTES:

The scholarship committee will present additional scholarships on Sunday during worship. Many thanks for the Saints' generosity and support of our students.

MONTHLY POTLUCKS ARE BACK!

Thank you to everyone who helped this past Sunday with set up, clean up, bringing food, and most of all, those who participated in our first fellowship potluck in two and a half years!  21 people stayed for the meal and enjoyed conversation while eating yummy “summer bounty” food offerings.

The potlucks will continue to be held on the third Sunday each month, as long as it is safe to do so.  Remember, many hands make the burden lighter, so we always need your help.  Please arrive at 10:00 am to help set up tables and chairs, plates, napkins, silverware, salt & pepper, food warmers, serving dishes, etc.

The next scheduled dates and themes are:

August 21 – Salad Bar (green salad, pasta salad, veggie salad, jello salad, fruit salad, etc.)

September 18 – Gluten Free!  There are so many recipes that are delicious, while also embracing those with gluten intolerance.

October 16 – Orange (dishes made with “orange” foods, such as squash, pumpkin, carrots, sweet potatoes, apricots, and of course oranges)

November 20 – Chili Cook-off (spicy or mild, red or white, meatless or meat-lovers)

December 18 – Five Ingredients or Less!  Be creative while limiting the number of ingredients!

Reminders will be included in the Sunday bulletins and on social media.
