Dear Beloved Saints:

Grace and peace from God the Creator, Christ the Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit the Sustainer.

Lot of activity going on at All Saints. The garden is flourishing as are the bees. Ministry blooms in this season. Please remember to invite your family and friends to worship with us. Its an easy thing to on social media. You need help extending an invitation? Help is available. Just ask!

Pastor Shannon will be away next Sunday, July 10th. She is doing her first Sprint Triathlon in Williamsburg, VA. Check it out https://rev3tri.com/events/williamsburg/  Pastor Wendy Deeben will service as the on-call pastor while Pastor Angela is away.

If anyone has familiarity with Microsoft Publisher, please contact Pastor Shannon. Jean was gracious enough to work ahead and provide us with bulletins until July 3rd. We need someone to prepare the bulletin while for that July 10th.  I am in the process of onboarding Susannah Porter who will serve as the virtual office manager for the next ninety days until a permanent office manager is hired.  Also, volunteers are welcome to come answer phones. Again, see me.

Attached is the bulletin for July 3, 2022, Third Sunday after Pentecost, we will have hybrid worship this Sunday with both in-person worship and virtual worship available. For in-person worship, please sign-in when you arrive. Masks are required.  If you have been exposed to COVID or are not feeling well, please stay home.  Everyone is asked to turn in a COVID waiver if you have not done so yet.  Copies will be attached to the bulletin emails and available at the church when you come.  Wristbands will be available for people to indicate the level of contact they will be comfortable with while attending church.

COMMUNION OPTIONS DURING WORSHIP: Since the COVID rates have decreased, we now offer two options for communion. You can either choose to receive communion around the altar or you can continue receiving communion at your seat utilizing one of the prefilled communion kits.  If you want to receive communion at the altar, please pick up an empty cup for wine, or a prefilled cup of grape juice, as you come to the Lord’s Table by the center aisle.  If you are seated on the right side, please approach the altar from the center aisle and move around to the center at the back of the altar platform. Stand to the left of the person in front of you in line. If you are seated on the left side, please approach the altar from the center aisle and move to the center at the front of the altar platform. Stand to the left of the person in front of you in line.  You may place the used cup in the empty tray at the front of each side aisle as you return to your seat.

Announcements of Note:

There is always an opportunity to contribute to May Scholarship Month!

The ASLC Scholarship is funded totally through donations.  Donations are accepted weekly, monthly, yearly or during the ASLC Scholarship MAY campaign. ASLC Scholarship is NOT a line item of the church budget. Scholarship awards are based solely on donations received.  Awards have ranged from $500 - $1000 per student per year depending upon money received and number of students each year.  Every dollar helps.  Please note ASLC Scholarship on the memo line so funds go directly to where you intended.

Our college students need your support.  Please consider giving to the ASLC Scholarship Program.  All donations go directly to our students. Please help.  For further information please reach out to Roz Kleffman,  Louise Waynant or Kim Watson.

The Bowie Food Pantry is experiencing a significant reduction in its food supply and in donations.  All contributions of food or money to the pantry would be much appreciated in the coming months.  Food contributions can be left in the ASLC entryway or dropped off at the pantry during its hours of operation. Please go to Bowiefoodpantry.org to see the list of food items the pantry distributes or for more information about additional donation drop-off locations.
