IMAC & Speaker Selection Issue

I am using a Pocket PC (Axim X51v) and it works fine in all respects
with my PC Laptop.

However, with the IMAc(Snow Leapard 10.6.2), when I try to change
speakers in any way: the speaker dialogue appears in ITunes on the
IMAC but I have lost total control of the IMAC requiring me to Power
Down and turn it on again. Also, the Pocket PC has lost control of
the server, too.

Otherwise, song playing is okay.

Hmm, I haven't heard of anything like that happening before. I just ran some tests on the Macs I have here (including two on 10.6.2) and speaker selection appears to be working properly. Do you by chance have any third-party utilities installed that interact with the mouse? I know Signal has conflicted with some of these in the past.
