Hello brothers and sisters. This Thursday we will be taking a look at Luke 9:18-24. It's a fascinating passage and a major turning point in Jesus' life. He's preparing Himself and His disciples for what awaits them in Jerusalem. His crucifixion.

He asks his disciples a question. "Who am I"

In Jesus' day there were a few different answers to the question. There's only one right answer.

And then He gives them and us a "personal mission statement" based on the correct answer to that question. Jesus wants each of us to "deny yourself and pick up your cross"

That statement is a tough one! What does that mean?

Be thinking about what denying yourself and picking up your cross might mean in your life and hopefully we'll have some good discussions.
