Hi all,
Come along for a spell of Tree and Shrub Planting at the Forest Garden this coming Sunday 14 Feb, 10 am to 12:30 - what better way to celebrate the day of love than pour some into the earth and your own (yummy!) future?
We've got some fruit and nut trees and soft fruit shrubs to plant, to add to the existing young orchard. We'll be adding other layers to the forest garden as the year goes on!
I'll be waiting for people by the school entrance until 10:05; if you come later, please go straight to the orchard (at the back of the school building, next to the millennium woodland).
Bring: garden gloves, a snack/drink, and wear weatherproof gear.
If you can, please also bring: scissors (large), secateurs, a spade, garden fork, any large sheets of cardboard kicking about or stacks of newspapers (raid a recycling bin on your way :-)), any punctured/unneeded bicycle inner tubes, wooden stakes (or anything useful as tree stakes, e.g. old tool handles, or even bed slats!), scissors, a large hammer (if convenient...), a flexitub or large bag for moving woodchip.
If you are skilled at bike repairs, the wheelbarrows may require some application of your talents...
Please feel free to forward this, to invite friends and neighbours, bring your family and loved ones, and come out to play!
Nenya
