Hi,
as you may all know this is the last year of growth in the KB allotment. It is currently booming with life. I don't know if the permaculture society has organised something to transfer the plants there (or collect some seeds) for another site. From what i understood a new home is going to be found for the trees and bushes but what about the other perennials growing there.
Could we organise a digging week-end to collect (and save) these beautiful plants?
xx

Hello,

I can take some of the plants I planted in the first two years of the allotment - geraniums, musk mallows, and rhubarb and honeysuckle shrubs, to a different site (in the Blackford glen, and Liberton High School forest garden.)

I was planning to go there on Saturday weather permitting.  If anyone wants to come along, please do! It will most likely be the afternoon for me.

Cheers,
Nenya

Hello,

Didn't realise this and sad to hear the news. Do you know if an alternative site is being made available?

I would be quite up for re-homing some of the plants, if they are not already accounted for. They would be able to come up to where at I work in the Braid Hills. We have a lot of space and it's a good project where the plants would be well appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,

That would be good if you could take some plants too! There are plenty to go round, a whole host of mints and lemon balms, bee- attracting geraniums and edible musk mallows. I took some stuff on Saturday but didn't make much of a dent in it!

Hi all,

What is happening to all the apple and plum trees that Sophie and I bought and planted? Are there plans to move them and a place for them to go?

Dear All,

A space has been identified by the architects to move the allotment, but you have to wait till you are officially told by the school where this is and when to move as this whole project is very complicated and lots of bits are interlinked.

Cheers

Sophie
