Position: Technical Writer
Location: Louisville, KY
Duration: 8+ months

Role Description:-
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in network and documentation technologies. Job responsibilities include creating a variety of technical documentation deliverables based on input from SME’s in various areas of Network, formatting and organizing content to meet standard guidelines, author procedure/process documentation and user guides.

Candidates for this role should have:
Three to Six years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in industry (IT Applications & Infrastructure).
This position relies on effective engagement with many groups. The best candidate will quickly gain a reputation as a strong partner who intelligently gathers input from multiple stakeholders and deals effectively with ambiguous or missing information.
As a Senior Technical Writer, you are a highly productive writer and a quick learner. You have an eye for detail and consistency, and exhibit unfailing attention.
Design and write complex parts of Network documentation.
Work with SMEs to gather and organize supporting materials.
Experience in writing of technical publications, such as requirements specifications, user manuals, technical manuals, training manuals and other documentation utilized by end users.
Able to multi-task, self-assign work, and function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written skills with ability to brief various audiences on status of projects, as needed
Strong interpersonal skills to negotiate and work with technical staff.
A proactive and open-minded attitude to resolving problems and delivering results.
Strong organizational skills, excellent time & project management skills and should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Influencing across boundaries, finding win-win solutions, and responding to obstacles creatively and resourcefully are key characteristics.

MUST HAVE:-
Experience writing for Network Engineers and Network Operations teams.
Experience documenting large, complex IT Infrastructures.
Familiarity with IT Service Management, specifically, Problem, Incident, Change and Configuration Management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint) and other technical authoring tools
Prior experience creating technical documentation for an enterprise infrastructure environment including: Network and System architecture diagrams, Data and process flow, How-to guides, SOPs and Processes
Operational (High-level) knowledge of Systems, Databases, Applications & Network concepts.
Windows server 2008 and 2k12
NetApp or other major NAS/SAN
VMware ESX
WAN/LAN Networking
Oracle and MSSQL databases technologies
Load Balancers (NetScaler and F5)
Backup Methodologies
Disaster Recovery replication methodologies
Protocols – NFS, CIFS, FTP, SSL, SSH, iSCSI, NTP, PGP
