clustering.how it can be enabled
and disble too.

hi All,

Teamming is a concept of the hardware manufacturer. In teaming we combine the net throughput of the different nic cards on same machine so that a custom application does something called aggregation. Joining two or more NIC cards enables a load balance as well as fault tollerence. Reduces single point of failure.

 

clustering is a concept of mainaining an uptime of 99.999 or more. This means that we are concerned about mission critical services like exchange, databases etc which need a high uptime. In clusterig we are not foused towards load sharing or load balancing. Clustering provides redundancy.

 

NLB or the network load balancing is a concept where we try to balance the load (network traffic) amongst different servers giving  us limited or no redundancy. Usually done for firewalls of front end web servers
