Infected Mushroom SandwichDescriptionA mold infested preparation of the red ant queen's favorite food.CategoryTierConsumables - Boss ItemsRecipe UnlockDiscover Infected Mushroom Sandwich RecipeDuplication Cost 1,000The Infected Mushroom Sandwich is a special item that allows the player to infect the Red Ant Queen when fed to it. It can be unlocked by finding the Infected Mushroom Sandwich Recipe, which is found in the Exposed Pipe that leads to the Haze Lab, specifically directly below the entrance to the lab.
When fed, the Red Ant Queen will die and cause all the same effects as the Poison Mushroom Sandwich, though with a small notice appearing saying "You sense a ripple in an alternate dimension". When the player starts New Game+ or goes to the next New Game+, the Red Anthill will become infected, with Infected Ants and Infected Soldier Ants replacing some of the Red Worker Ants and Red Soldier Ants. Along with this, the Red Ant Queen will become an Infected Ant Queen.
It can only be used once, and using it locks the player out of feeding the Red Ant Queen any other options of Mushroom Sandwich for that save as well as the next New Game+, due to turning the Red Ant Queen into an Infected Ant Queen.
Infected Mushroom is an electronic based duo from Israel comprised of producers Erez Eisen and Amit Duvdevani. Their sound is highly eclectic, touching on subgenres such as glitch, electro house, industrial, and trance. They are one of the biggest selling artist in Israel and have likewise reached success internationally.
Both members had a similar musical upbringing, undertaking classical piano at the start of their music endeavors. Eisen reoriented his focus to electronic music experimenting with various compositional software and eventually entered into the DJ scene. Duvdevani also departed from classical music; however, he shifted his attention towards punk rock and heavy metal, later joining Israeli punk band Enzyme to play keyboards.
Infected Mushroom is a psytrance/indie/electronica act from Israel. The duo combine eclectic musical sources, from acoustic guitars to synthesised bass to create complex high-octane psychedelic music. Their gigs are hence adrenalin-fuelled experiences.
If you want to experience live music that is anything but ordinary, Infected Mushroom come highly recommended. The Israeli psytrance/electronica duo have been making waves globally on the strength of their mind bending live show. Combining alt-dance music, bizarre visuals and a barrage of instruments the group goes about creating an experience that must be seen to be believed.
The stage set up completely envelopes the crowd in an eerie fluorescent before the pair step out and get to work recreating their crazy sounds. The audience is receptive throughout, if not slightly confused during spanning instrumental introductions to the likes of 'Cities of the Future'. A reworked cover of 'The Pretender' by Foo Fighters turns rock to dance and demonstrates the band's skill as sound innovators.
By the time they begin to wind up the show with 'I'm A Survivor' the crowd has completely surrendered to their bizarre world and now hope to continue dancing within it well into the night. By the final psych tones of 'Heavyweight' the huge cheers are those of confident converts.
This was the first Infected Mushroom concert for me. I play classical music and have been impressed with these four men from the get go. Duvdev looked so happy during this performance. He smiled so much; I think he is infectious! Erez is the best keyboardist and pianist I have ever had the pleasure to hear. I read and write music so my appreciation and ear know the score with these artists! These four men rocked my world and I'm still high on Monday from being immersed in their songs. It was such an incredible performance that I was stunned. I will never forget this concert. There isn't any comparison for their brilliance and talent.
I saw these guys for the first time (That I can actually remember. Whoops.) at Freaknight 2013. Regrettably, they were at the end of the night, so I was mega tired. But when they played Astrix On Mushrooms, I couldn't help but jam. Their show was INSANE. The amount of energy was phenomenal. I keep waiting for another DJ set in my general area. These guys are definitely worth seeing as a DJ set.
As a side note, I did see them perform live. But the crowd was so disgustingly Portand (Wannabe hippies, plenty of hipsters and plenty of druggies), that I couldn't get into it. Seeing them at a Trance/EDM show was a superior experience, by a long shot. Nothing at all against them, just the experience.
Maybe it's common knowledge amongst those who frequent EDM shows, but this started WAY later than the advertised time. I was really looking forward to seeing this, and bought my tickets months ahead of time for the 9PM show.
Got to the venue (45 minutes on public transit) and found it odd that after two hours, IM still hadn't taken the stage. Checked Facebook to find a post from the band saying that they'd be on stage at 12:30. I hate being THAT guy, but I had shit to do in the morning, and transit stops running here early. I left the venue at 10:30, having wasted $35. I don't blame the band for going on late, but it would be great if they would advertise it properly.
I think I went into this show with the wrong expectations. It was more dubstep than psytrance. They did play some of their older songs at the end (aleit with dubsteppy interludes). I found myself increasingly frustrated with the way Amit demanded the audience's participation instead of earning it, and if we took a drink for each time he yelled "Seattle", we'd all be in the ER ten minutes into the show: every twenty seconds there was another variant on "Jump, Seattle!", "Seattle, I want to see your hands!", "Make some fucking noise, Seattle!!!"
I'm a big infected fan and never missed a NYC show from 2008!! This show SUCKED! Ther was more kids making a video with their phone then people dancing ! I miss the vibes infected used to have before dubstep was a thing , don't get me wrong Im totally into dubstep and the way it affected infected , but they let it change them TO MUCH and they don't sound anything like the self any more and that's maybe why you go to the infected show today and there's only new kids and non of the old fans .
The Ministry of Sound was heaving forInfected Mushroom"s final gig of the year. They are my wife's favorite dj's/band. Along with fans she was not disappointed. They went on a journey rely mixing it up..Starting with newer material from Nutmeg. playing deep bass, funky trance, dubstep, some tasty guitar breaks then finishing off with classics. Amit and Erez rely whipped the crowd up. A thoroughly enjoyable event. .
Infected Mushroom puts on an incredible show. Their skills are unmatched in terms of performance and I love that they play live instruments! I honestly never know if I would rather head bang or liquid dance when I listen to them. They cross genres and I could see them at any electronic or metal festival
The dynamics section really is the area of the plugin that will pull frequencies forward in the mix and this really is the part of the plug that has that magic sauce. So what is it all about I hear you cry?
The more mushroom magic you dial in I find the more forward the mix sounds particularly in the upper mids, I guess this is because the upper mids are being excited more and our ears are more sensitive to those frequencies.
The Limit mode is softer and warmer on the mix and to me seems to smooth transients ever so slightly, which can be good if you want to add a touch of warmth to the mix. Acoustic music for example might benefit from Limit mode as it will soften and warm the music but not so much that you lose the essence of strumming. Whatever style of music you write though make sure your experiment and see what works best for your music masters.
In the tutorial video I wanted to bring the upper mids forward, add warmth to the low end and perhaps widen the mix a little. The Infected Mushroom Pusher has all the tools in one plugin to do all of those things and sounds like a perfect choice for the job!
Adjusting the input knob until the indicator in the centre shows yellow ensures optimal operation. If the indicator shows red more than very briefly, the input gain is probably set too high, whereas too much green means it is too low. As its name suggests, the Low control enhances low frequencies in both dynamics and harmonic content, and to my ears, has much in common with filtered and mildly overdriven parallel compression. It is possible to adjust the frequency below which the Low process comes into play based on either note or frequency: musical notes and their frequencies are shown on a pull-down menu.
My first thoughts were that this might only be a plug-in for the radically minded, but it turns out to be very versatile, and capable of great subtlety on the one hand or quite radical enhancement on the other. Perhaps most surprising is that this is a very affordable plug-in. IM Pusher really is a magic mushroom that can add loudness, weight, polish, sparkle or grit as required to virtually any style of music.
