The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) will have a multi-layered engagement at the forthcoming AfricaSan conference, which takes place October 8-10 2014 in Dakar, Senegal. One engagement involves support for the AfricaSan IMPACT AT SCALE AWARD. This award will be presented in recognition of outstanding sanitation and hygiene initiatives that have had impact at a significant scale (i.e. city-scale; district-scale, country-scale)
Nominations for this award are now being accepted until September 10, 2014. Nomination information for the IMPACT AT SCALE AWARD, and the other AfricaSan Awards, is available at https://www.africasan.com/pages/10/africasan-awards.
AfricaSan is the foremost continental event on sanitation and hygiene. This will be the fourth edition of the event, hosted this time by AMCOW and the Government of Senegal. AfricaSan 4 will attract approximately 40 African Ministers responsible for sanitation and all the key agencies involved in sanitation and hygiene. Some 500 people in total are expected. AfricaSan 4 looks to build momentum on sanitation and hygiene for the forthcoming Sanitation Development Goals, as well as review progress against the Millennium Development Goals. The conference theme is “Making Sanitation for All a Reality in Africa”.
