Please describe your experience with our Surprise Dinners "Devine Qui
Vient Ce Soir".

Our last dinner was in November, we had one in New Haven, one in
Madison, and one in Higganum!

The hosts don't know who is coming ...the guests know the address and
the phone number ..but they don't know who else is coming!!

The AF team is in the background, we match people by location first,
and then by interests.

You sign-up by e-mail at afnew...@gmail.com, you tell us whether you
can host the dinner, or if you can attend. If you host, you can invite
two of your personal friends or neighbors, and you let us know how
many guests you can accomodate.

The host typically prepares the main course. The guests bring the
rest. The AF team in the background coordinates who brings what
(cocktails, appetizer, side dishes, dessert ...) ...everyone gest e-
mail confirmations of where they go and what to bring two weeks before
the event.

Try it, it is really a wonderful way to spend time getting to know
members better!

OK - It's me. I am posting the question, and responding! Because A- I participate to everything we plan and B- I have to fill this rather empty website :)

I went to our Devine Qui Vient Ce Soir Dinner in November, with my husband Michael, and our two kids (6 and 10). I was the one who had coordinated the matching, so I knew we were going to Marie-Laure and Max who were hosting that night! They, on the other hand, had no idea that we were coming (although they had a hint), and they had to tell their kids that they were having guests ..but had no idea who was coming ..so what a surprise when Leo discovered Julie at the door :)) . We had such a wonderful evening, the Boeuf bourguignon was fabulous, and Lamonte and her husband had brought some fabulous French cheeses, and a killer apple pie!

Une soiree de retrouvailles, ou nous avons enfin pris le temps de bavarder, autour d'un excellent diner, a la bonne tradition europenne!

Sophie

LaMonte here. I agree, we had a great time. Sophie’s plateau de foie
gras w/trimmings was a real treat, too. The conversations were
stimulating and Jeff and I are looking forward to the next surprise
dinner.
