Thanks again for jumping on our important call today. Below are reminders about next steps in the coming weeks and our call notes.

NEXT STEPS:

#1: Give us your input by July 5th

In preparation for our next call in two weeks, please share this information, questions, and survey with key folks in your organizations

Big-picture questions you've outlined to mull over so we can make informed decisions on proposals next call:

·         Why did the Alliance start? How long did we think it would last? Was it always seen as a long term project?

·         What are the benefits of having an Alliance? Are they the same or have they changed over the years? Have we been able to change with the political landscape?

·         What are the goals we would like to see in the next 5-10 years if we want to be a coalition for that longer time scale?

·         If The Alliance wasn’t around, what would the gaps be in the movement?

·         What are The Alliance’s strengths?

·         What is the one most important thing the Alliance does?

·         Can this kind of collaborative work continue without the Alliance, and how might it?

·         What are some of the possibilities for meeting our funding needs for the Alliance moving forward? What are creative ways to move forward with funding needs?

·         What are areas where the Alliance could work to address needs in the current political landscape?

·       Are there other coalitions that are operating with different structures that are effective and reduce costs?

·       Are there ways that we can shift our messaging to better reach funders?

*we need to be mindful about being mission driven and not simply funders driven and we need to really think through these realities

*we can shift our messaging for grant writing without changing our actual work -- for example, MTR is a real barrier to economic transition and can be framed as such in our grant writing.

·         What do we see happening in 2014?
