Hello all,

I am again emailing you all to remind you that I will not be available to do any admin for beavers or cubs as from July 2014.

This means that someone else will have to take over.

I have done this post for the last two and a half years and feel that it is now someone else's turn as my life is so hectic and busy.

From September I am doing a full time college course as well as the usual everyday commitments of having four children and after school clubs etc.

This position really needs to be decided on ASAP!!!  I would hate to think that Cubs and beavers would fold and end if no one took this over!

I will still be available to help out at sessions every Tuesday for both beavers and cubs but do not want any more commitment that that (i.e. I just want to turn up and help).

I hope everyone understands and maybe we need a meeting MIKE soon to sort this out and also sort out the programme for September term.  I'm worried nothing will get done and everyone will presume I will just carry on, which will not happen.

Regards

Trudie

I agree that we need a meeting involving all parents as well. I’m happy to continue at the level I’m doing now but cannot take on any more. We’re getting by but only just  and as Trudie says it would be such a shame if we folded now with all the children we have attending and on the waiting list.

I too am more than happy to continue on all the weeks I can and am happy to be involved with planing but I work in the Elks some evenings so and can't promise to make every week or to have the time to take on all the planning, as much as I'd like to.

It is wonderful to still be involved is such an active group and long may it continue!

Thanks Pauline, Kate and Trudie for confirming the commitment. It seems imperative to have meeting to decide on who does what and what people are able  to do taking in other commitments. It should be possible to spread the load so it's not too onerous on any one person, we need  enough people to carry out a clear list of jobs some I have listed below this applies to all sections but some jobs can be across sections like membership sec. and some jobs should be shared

·         Leaders and helpers on Beaver, Cub Scout and Explorer night.

·         Programme planning team

·         Membership secretary

·         Activity supervisors.

·         Activity planners

·         Treasury (already excellently carried out by Steve Agar)

·         Chairperson

·         Camp & overnight stopovers planners

·         Camp & overnight stopovers helpers

Other than leaders all the above jobs just require a CRB check ( at no cost to yourself or the group)

All these jobs need to be carried out for the group to continue and some people carry out too many and leave.

So what I am saying if you or any one you know, from 18yrs and the grave, that can help in any way, whether it be once week, once a fortnight, once a month or once a year please let a leader know, you may even enjoy it. And leaders please ask for help.
