Dear All
The discussions over the quality attributes of organic produce over that of conventional produce has been active for quite sometime. In our lab, we have tried to assess the quality parameters in both the systems through high-throughput 2DE proteome assay, followed by MALDI-TOF detection of differentially expressed proteins and their pathway analysis. Our results show that organic systems hardly contribute to the nutritional and food quality parameters of yardlong bean pods.
This paper could pave a second thought for the politicians and policy makers, before they make declarations and policies on fancy terms such as 'organic farming'.
Best regards
