University
We have two positions immediately available for talented and
self-motivated post-doctoral
candidates (Ph.D. level) with backgrounds in synthetic biology,
computational biology,
soil/gut microbiome, and/or murine models to engage in several exciting
funded research
projects on microbiome engineering, horizontal gene transfer and the
genetic code. Our lab
employs synthetic and systems biology approaches to design and build new
microbes with
novel capabilities, leveraging both engineering and evolutionary
principles. We utilize genome
engineering (MAGE, CRISPR, etc.), DNA synthesis, and next-generation
sequencing methods
to develop new microbial systems and microbial communities that are
associated with the
human body and in soil environments.
