82nd Open Equipment Fundraising Tournament
Last year’s equipment fundraising tournament was a massive success.  For everyone that borrows our electric equipment for competition, open fencing, and class, last year’s equipment fundraiser completely set us up for the entire season and we were able to replace all our broken weapons.  The availability and maintenance of the best equipment has been invaluable to all our fencers.  And the ones that own their own FIE equipment can tell you how expensive owning these on your own can be!  At the end of the season, we used up all our spare blades, and we’re looking to upgrade some of our fencing strips with hopefully replay and/or additional strips.  Please try to register now for our Fundraising Tournament in August, it will also serve as our season opener.  Event fee is $25 and any other donation if you wish to donate for our equipment fundraiser.

For the youth events, they are currently separate, but depending on how many fencers we have in each age group, we may combine, but we’ll do separate awards for different age groups.  Some of the age groups may overlap, if you’re attending, go ahead and register for all the youth age groups you are eligible for so I can see what ages we have fencing and where we might be able to split or combine.

It’s a pretty good deal if you can use the equipment, the set is $150.  This set will most likely apply to just our fencers that fence epee.  The are left handed equipment, the weapons may be possible to convert them to right handed (depending on the quality/state of the weapons).  There is also a spare blade that can be used to create a left or right handed weapon.  Masks are only good for epee, not foil.

Here is what I see and my opinion:

-Bag:  Always useful, especially if you don’t have a bag
-2 epee masks:  They are both epee masks, not useful to foil fencers, both are large.
-1 left hand glove:  Useful for both foil and epee
-1 underarm protector (plastron):  Can be used for left or right handed fencer, useful for both foil and epee
-2 electric epees:  Unknown state of the weapons, but usually I can repair.  They don’t look like they are in bad condition.  So it may be possible that they can be converted to right handed weapons. There is a complete Leon Paul Fusion epee weapon and a complete Vniti FIE epee weapon.
-1 wired Leon Paul Fusion epee blade.
-2 epee body cords
-1 practice sabre (Blue Gauntlet)
-1 practice foil (Absolute Fencing Gear)
