[OT] Updates on OSI Days 2010 - Open Source Conference, Chennai, Sept 19-21, 2010

Hello

Just a friendly update about OSI Days 2010. Speakers from more than 10 countries are joining us for more than 50 sessions and 12 workshops/trainings over the three day conference. There is emphasis on PHP, Drupal, Databases, Mobile, and Government Communities at the conference.  The rich content at the conference will be useful for building technical skills and leveraging Open Source for strategic advantage.

• Sessions Java Script by Prajwala and HTML 5 by Jason Levitt of Kaltura USA

For Mobile Developers:

• A full day dedicated to Mobile Developers Tracks
• 4 Hrs workshop on Android App Development by Dibya Prakash, a popular name in Android and ROR world
• 4 Hrs workshop on iphone/ ipad App development by Reetu Raj of techahead.com exploring development of iPhone apps using open source tools

For Database Community:

• Sonali Minocha from OSSCube is taking workshop on MySQL Clusters and a session on Performance Tuning of MySQL
• Jonathan Gray (Software Engineer & Open Source Advocate, Facebook) is taking sessions on Hadoop, HBase, NoSQL and Hive at Facebook

For Drupal Community:

• Workshop on Drupal Theming and Drupal 7 theming session by Marek Sotak (Designer of the popular RootCandy theme)
• Session on Aegir by Dave Hall from Australia to manage thousands of Drupal Sites effectively
• Kaltura for Drupal by Jason Levitt & Building Powerful search in Drupal by Prajwala
• Case study on Drupal Multisite and Multilingual implementation for Kabbalah.com by Oriya Pollak from Kabbalah USA and Rakesh, Ankur from OSSCube
• Workshop on Drupal Module development by Ipsita Mishra & Siva Kumar Epari

A little more:

• Eben Moglen (Founder, Director-Counsel and Chairman of Software Freedom Law Center) and Mishi Choudhary (Counsel, SFLC and Founding Director, SFLC India) will take sessions on Legal aspects in FOSS
• Siddhartha Agarwal (VP, Americas Field Operations, Zend) has also confirmed his participation at OSI Days 2010
• A BrainJam (A high energy 2 hour event to tap into the collective knowledge of the audience) hosted by Kiruba Shankar, specifically focussed for SMEs

The conference schedule looks promising and has shaped up really well. I would encourage you all to participate in the conference and make it a success.
