Regional support approaches to IPBES – Europe as showcase
Throughout the discussion processes on IPBES over the past years, the importance of multi-level approaches has been stressed for addressing aspects of biodiversity and ecosystem services properly. In order to make the work of IPBES relevant for decision making on all levels, an interactive networking approach from the global to the local level will be needed. The side event will discuss this issue by using the European regional approaches and experiences as showcase. The aim is to outline the importance of regional interactions to support and facilitate input the work programme activities of IPBES.
