Subject: Wake and Funeral Service for Samuel Heng (Joe Heng and Hui Cheng's newborn son)
To:

Dear DG Leader,
It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that I bring you this news.
About 9 months ago, Hui Ching (Pastor Joe Heng's wife) was found to be with child.
However, their joy was relatively short-lived as the child was found in the 20th week to be suffering from a lethal medical condition which would mean that the child would not survive full-term or even if he did, would die very shortly after birth.
The basic condition is that his rib cage is not growing normally and hence would be too small for his lungs.
Samuel Heng was born late Sunday night, 26 Aug, and went home to be with the Lord about 7 hours later.
Joe, Hui Ching and Jodie were able to hold and be with the baby for that period of time.
As what Pastor Chris said in his email below, this is one occasion where we experience the inexplicable in our faith journey.
Let us indeed, as the body of Christ, grieve together with Joe, Hui Ching and Jodie while allowing God's Spirit to strengthen us with the comfort of the resurrection hope of our Lord Jesus.
The details of the wake and funeral service are found in the email below.
Please forward this to your DG members.
Thank you.
In Christ's love and with his hope,
Edmund

My Dearest ARPC Leaders & Family,
Most would know that Joe and Hui Ching's child, Sammi, came briefly into their lives - only to depart so suddenly.
Ever so often we experience the inexplicable in our faith journey which brings us to our knees to seek God as never before.
This is one such occasion. 1 Cor 12:26 tells us that if one part suffers, every part suffers with it.
So over the next few days, let us lament deeply yet hope courageously together as the Spirit turns our hearts to our risen Lord Jesus.
There will a wake Service on Thursday @ 8 pm, followed by the funeral on Friday.
Let us continue to pray and encourage the Hengs during this season of tears.
Thank you Adrian for walking them through this as their good gynae and dear brother in Christ.
Thanks to all who have prayed and journeyed with them spiritually over the past 2 days, yet given them space to rest physically.
For God's Glory, Chris

Hi everyone
Just thought I'd keep everyone updated about Joe Heng's baby Sammy who was delivered late last night by caesarean section.
Baby cried a bit at birth but presently having some breathing difficulties.. baby and mother are in OL ward, Mt Alvernia Hospital.
Dr Chan Kit Yee, our church member and a paediatrician at MAH is taking care of the baby.
Do continue to pray for the Heng family and be a blessing to them at this difficult time.
In Christ
Adrian
