Heya guys!

So sorry for the late notice. Have been a little caught up.

In any case, this Thursday we meet to read God's Word, to fellowship with God's people and to live our lives for God's sake.

Paul seems to be repeating the doctrine of a justification by faith ad nauseum. It would be to our detriment if we merely brushed him off as being 'cheong hei'. Rather, we should try to understand why he is pleading so desperately with the Galatians on this matter.

From Galatians 3, we learn that God's plan to bless the nations (Justification) come as a Promise made to Abraham.

Abraham received the not-yet promise by faith (in God) and was justified.

The promise is Christ and his atoning death for our sins.

We receive this promise/Christ, by faith (in Christ/God) and we shall be justified.

The law was given so that we will recognize sin and realize our need for justification before God. It wasn't intended to justify us.

In Galatians 4, Paul examines the story of Hagar and Sarah and draw important lessons for the Galatians as well as for Christians today. Let's brush up on our OT stories a bit in preparation for the study. Go read Genesis Chapters 16 and 17.
