SECCC Leadership Announcement
2023 saw growth, challenges, debate, and resolution.  Our focus going forward will be to continue looking onwards, round the next corner, and taking on the challenges of new ascents.  I would like to introduce our new SECCC Conference Directors: 

• Nat Ross, SECCC Conference Director and USA Cycling Director of Youth & Collegiate Cycling:  Nat comes from a serious cyclocross background and sales at Pirelli Bicycle US.  Nat will oversee and will be accountable for our conference for 2024, riding forward.

• Mike Souers, SECCC Assistant Dir. and Director of Sales for Pedal Industries: Mike comes to us as an excited Alum of Lindsey Wilson.  Mike also sits as the MWCCC Conference Director, contractor for USAC,  and will support Nat Ross here at the SECCC.  Mike is responsible  for all activities and questions within the SECCC on the day-to-day basis.

I will be putting together and org chart with the above contacts and responsibilities soon so that we have transparency in responsibilities.  Thank you for you patience as we work together to build this organizational structure.  

Short Story from Clay (feel free to skip this part and take my Contact Form survey!)
I have been proud to serve as a board member of the SECCC since 2018.  Beforehand, I was a student and club president of KSU Cycling, so I've been around the conference fam since 2014.  Each year has presented new challenges and changes.  I roll with the punches.  

I flew out to USAC HQ with Nick Luther in 2019 to pitch the foundation of a bridge and catch program from youth cycling to collegiate.  I want to solve the question everyone has "What is Collegiate Cycling?" and I believe that a campaign emboldened Bring Your Bike With You (to college) will help in this effort.  I will be working with our new conference and USAC leadership on a campaign like this.  It may yet be another hat I wear.  

Lastly, and for awareness, I am a volunteer for the SECCC.  I pay my own USAC  license, drive my own vehicle with my gas to SECCC races, and donate my time running the social media and website updates as much as I can.  Nick Luther and the former SECCC board are also volunteers; Tiffany, Coach Zack, Barman, Nick, and myself all have full time jobs.  If you find us on LinkedIn, you can see that the former board members all wear many hats.  Please be kind and compassionate to that idea when reaching out for requests or commenting. That's all - Oh, and 'thank you' goes a long way! Even though the SECCC board has been dissolved, you can still find us riding around on two wheels, so give a shout of appreciation when you see them.  

Thank you all for reading a lengthy email.  I appreciate your help as we grow through changes and establish open lines of communication.  I once turned around to look behind me during a training crit.  A former Olympian turned and said to me (in a thick Russian accent), "Race in front of you.  Not behind you.  Eyes forward." and to that I sign off;
