Last Sunday the All Good Books Group had a great discussion of “Beloved” by Toni Morrison. At the end of this message is a list of other books related to the Civil War that were mentioned during the discussion.

The group also settled on books for discussion at our September and October meetings. Here’s the schedule, but remember that each meeting is preceded by a Fellowship Luncheon at 11:30 AM. All meetings are held at the Mission Road Community of Christ church at 7842 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS.

·         Sunday, September 21, 2025, 12:30 p.m. “The Maid” by Nita Prose – discussion led by Jane Stock.

·         Sunday October 12, 2025, 12:30 p.m. “The Echo of Old Books” by Barbara Davis – discussion led by Arlene Leonard. The October date was changed to avoid a Chiefs game. Go Chiefs!

·         November 16, 2025, we’ll vote in September to select the book.

·         December – we typically skip due to the holiday season.

Other books that received the most votes for future discussions.

·         “Bones Beneath My Skin” by TJ Klune

·         “Mr. Dickens and His Carol” by Samantha Silva

·         “The Lion Women of Tehran” by Marjan Kamali

·         “The Memory Library” by Kate Story
