BAC. Traffic rules in Europe: Andorra. Civic duty

Extracts from Traffic Code of 10th June, 1999

– Andorra has the right hand side of the road.

– Driving age starts from 18 years.

– Everybody (a driver and all passengers) must wear seatbelts.

– Each car entering Andorra (registered outside) must have a  sticker of the country on back of a car.

– Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) is 0.50% for private transport. 0.20% for commercial transport.

– The speed limit depends on where you are: in cities – 50 km/h (31 mph), outside the cities – from 60 km/h (37 mph) to 90 km/h (55 mph).

– Children under 10 years are prohibited to be on the front seat.


– A driver and passengers must use seat belts.

– Mobile phones and communication is available only with hands-free system.

– A warning triangle, spare lamps, and reflecting yellow waistcoat inside the car is mandatory.

– Insurance is needed: for car, driver and civic duty.
