Polish pilot Cuba Przigonski driving a Toyota GT 86 coupe set a new world record for the fastest drift that hit the Guinness Book of Records.
For arrivals at the former military airfield near Warsaw, the Pole used a “charged” version of the Toyota GT 86 rear-wheel drive coupe, under the hood of which an engine with 1,068 hp was installed. During a record attempt by Przigonski, the average drift speed was almost 217 km / h, the maximum drift angle reached 49 degrees, writes the publication Leftlanenews. The previous achievement in the fastest glide - 183 km / h - was set by the German Alexander Graff last year with Spanish cars.
Recall that in May of this year, the instructor of the BMW Performance Driving school Johan Schwartz broke the record for the duration of controlled drift. On a driving school track in the US city of Greenville, South Carolina, driving a standard M5 sedan with a M-DCT robotic transmission, Schwartz drove 82 km 520 m in a controlled drift.
