A restyled version of the flagship AvtoVAZ will be equipped with a robotic gearbox by mid-2020.
This was announced by the project director of the Lada Priora family of cars Nikolai Fofanov. According to him, already in the fourth quarter of this year, the pre-heater and cable transmission will appear on the updated model, like on the new Lada Kalina, and in the middle of next year a “robot” will also appear on the basis of this box.
Fofanov noted that a robotic gearbox, unlike the traditional “automatic machine” available at the same Kalina, will cost less, but have similar functionality, reports AvtoSreda about Italian cars.
In addition, AvtoVAZ will continue to work on improving the sound insulation of the car. It is planned to improve the Lada Priora until 2015, and then the model will replace the completely new Lada car.
