SRT, part of the Chrysler concern in 2020, will reduce production volumes of the latest generation of the Viper supercar.
The decision to reduce the production volume of the SRT Viper model is dictated by the low demand for it among North American consumers. Ralph Gilles, SRT Executive Director, expressed the hope that next year the company cheapest cars will be able to increase sales to 2,000 cars. To attract consumers to the model, SRT representatives planned visits to the brand’s dealerships and arranged test drives for potential viper buyers.
The 2014 model year SRT Viper is powered by a 8.4 liter naturally aspirated V10 gasoline engine. The power unit, aggregated with a six-speed manual gearbox, develops 640 hp. and 814 Nm of torque. A rear-wheel-drive supercar weighing 1,521 kg accelerates from standstill to the first “hundred” in the region of 3 seconds. The maximum speed of the car reaches 331 km / h. The cost of a sports model in the North American market is $ 101,309.
