Hi all,
This is a great opportunity for those of us who are interested in NLP
and machine learning to participate, get published, win good prizes
(first place: $10,000) and possibly get hired in MSR/Bing.
The speller challenge has been organized by MSR (Microsoft Research)
in partnership with the team that I work with in Bing (Query
Rewriting). We have created the data sets that you need to start your
experiments and see if you can come up with a better speller.
The task is to build the best speller web service that proposes the
most plausible spelling alternatives for a wide range of search
queries. Spellers are encouraged to take advantage of cloud computing
and must be submitted to the challenge in the form of REST
(Representational State Transfer) web services.
