You can encode it at a much lower rate than music so it doesn't become a huge file.
By the way, I agree completely Doug's talk about a space rock radio station. Because space rock has failed repeatedly to take off even slightly in the United States, many people involved seem to think the label is the kiss of death. What they don't understand is that, if approached properly, it's actually very cool to the kids.
All the time I see things billed as psychedelic and space rock - but they're put into the art spaces and typically have Japanese front-people (excuses for the racial mention but we're talking 85%) and are being seen by the sort of people who go to see electronica, not the people who see rock bands.
