Hello Alief Super Neighborhood 25
I hope you are doing well.
On behalf of SPLASh (Stopping Plastics and Litter Along Shorelines) and the American Bird Conservancy, I would like to invite you and your community members to join us for an upcoming cleanup event focused on protecting our waterways, wetland, and bird habitats from litter and plastic pollution.
Every volunteer makes a direct impact. By joining us, participants help remove harmful debris from the environment, improve habitat health for wildlife, contribute to important litter research efforts, and support cleaner, healthier communities across the Greater Houston/Galveston region.
If you are unable to attend, we would greatly appreciate you sharing this opportunity with your staff, members, residents, students, or community networks to help us spread the word and increase participation.
Event Details
Date: July 11th, 2026
Time: 8am to 11am
Location:
Arthur Storey Park- 7400 W Sam Houston Pkwy S, Houston, TX 77036
Registration Information
Please register for yourself and anyone else from your family or group who plans to attend.
Additional Information
We will also have some fun games and activities for the volunteers to participate during and after the cleanup to learn more about how they can help SPLASh within their community and at home.
We have two volunteer opportunities for the day.
General Cleanup Volunteer - Cleanup trash in the area, no data collection required.
Data Collection Volunteer - Staff will lead a transect with your help! You will be guided in proper protocol to collect & itemize trash within an area. Arrive by 7:45am. No prior training required.
We welcome volunteers of all experience levels, and cleanup supplies will be provided unless otherwise noted. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bring a reusable water bottle. We will have water, cups, first aid kit, bags, and limited trash grabbers on site.
Together, we can make a meaningful impact on our environment and waterways while helping protect critical bird habitat from litter and pollution.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like additional information. We hope to see you at the cleanup!
Best regards,
Morton Sager (He/Him)
