What a beautiful tribute. We lost the "MAYOR" of Alief.
She will be missed. My love and condolences go out to her family.

It took a long time to fund and approve the construction of the new Alief community center. Thanks to the Alief Super Neighborhood Council and Barbara Quattro Chairman for getting it done (After 20+ long years).
The Alief Neighborhood Center anchors one of the nation’s most diverse communities, creating a civic hub within a revitalized 38-acre urban park.
Designed with extensive community input, the 70,000 square foot center unites city services under one roof including Houston Health, Parks, Library, and General Services Departments while fostering engagement with the “Biggest Front Porch in Texas,” a welcoming plaza where neighbors gather.
The center features a skate park, outdoor pool, athletic courts, and sports fields for Tennis, Soccer, baseball and softball.

We will miss her deeply, but we also honor and appreciate the legacy she leaves behind—both the tangible contributions (Alief Community Center, Alief Linear Forest, spay/neuter program, etc.) and the lasting inspiration she provided as a leader in community
engagement.
