Thank you, Diann and Marie, I’m glad you enjoyed it and learned something. The zoo has a long history and many stories. Our original version was nearly 20+ minutes! It was definitely a story challenge to whizz through 80 years of history in just moments leading to the zoo’s most pivotal time of privatization. Much like the Alief community and partners, there were so many individuals (like “Zoo Friends”) that rolled up their sleeves and pitched in with their time and resources to grow the zoo in its first 80 years. From its humble beginnings to today’s multi-million dollar exhibits and world-class animal care & conservation efforts, it’s always people in the community who make the biggest difference.
