The Alief Trail Project Bike Ride held on December 6 was a great success! Harris County Precinct 4, Neighborhood to Trails Southwest, BikeHouston, and Houston Parks Board hosted an informational bike ride along the future Alief Trail. Attendees were able to asks the project team questions about the route and enjoy a fun ride with community members and neighbors.
The Alief Trail Project is now in the Design Phase, where the design team takes feedback that was given during the community meetings and bike rides and incorporates it into the design. The next community engagement opportunity for this project will take place this Spring!

Project Information: Houston Parks Board and Harris County Precinct 4 are partnering to design a new 5.2-mile hike-and-bike trail in Alief between Keegans Bayou and Brays Bayou. In 2023, Precinct 4 awarded Houston Parks Board a "Places 4 People" partnership grant to design the trail, which will be primarily within the CenterPoint easement to connect to nearby schools, parks, and METRO bus stops. The project is in partnership with the International Management District, which plans to maintain the trail after completion.

The event will celebrate the diversity of this incredible community and the newest addition to the beautiful Arthur Storey Park ( 7400 W Sam Houston Pkwy S, Houston, TX 77036). Attendees will get to enjoy a vibrant lineup of activities and entertainment, including:
- Free light bites and refreshments
- Community performances
- Lion dance ceremony
- Activities and resources for all ages

El Paseo en Bicicleta del Proyecto del Sendero de Alief, realizado el 6 de diciembre, fue todo un éxito. Sus organizadores, el Precinto 4 del Condado Harris, Neighborhood to Trails Southwest, BikeHouston y Houston Parks Board rindieron un recorrido informativo a lo largo del futuro Sendero de Alief. Los asistentes pudieron hacer preguntas al equipo del proyecto sobre la ruta y disfrutar de un paseo ameno con integrantes de la comunidad y vecinos.
Actualmente, el Proyecto del Sendero de Alief se encuentra en la Fase de Diseño, durante la cual el equipo encargado toma los comentarios compartidos en las reuniones comunitarias, paseos en bicicleta, y los incorpora al diseño. La próxima oportunidad de participación comunitaria para este proyecto se llevará a cabo durante la primavera.
