Barbara was a person totally involved in making the world a better place. She worked hard all her life, never complaining as seemed to see life as an adventure. Barbara loved to be home and create things. She always had a project. Above is her favorite Ladybugs, which she went so far as to put in the walk to her back patio. You'd often see them on the fence.
There was the serious side as Barbara cared for Alief and wanted it to be better for all residents. She was recognized at City Hall and honored with resolutions by both Harris County and The City of Houston. These are well deserved, given her volunteer work. This was in December 2023.
Barbara was instrumental in getting the Empty Shelter Project to come to Alief and perform spay services, shot updates for free to the dogs and cats of Alief. Also, they did microchip identification in case you ever lost your animal. This was beyond her role as a foster mom to animals who needed help before being adopted. She was great at helping a mother dog care for her babies. Barbara would then feel she needed to help them find good homes.
Barbara we all know your urging us on to complete what was needed to be done for the future. I trust all the young people of Alief will remember her and emulate her with their diverse skills.
Rest now my dear friend, if just for a while.
