general question on calibration

According to the documentation, The camera calibration mode in mushroom Calculates distortion parameters and focal length for a given camera setup.

If I use the same camera on my cellphone for example but I changed the resolution of the image and the focal length while keeping the same lens, should I compute the distortion parameters For the new set up?
