Good day! I don’t know if this group is still active, but I’ll give it a try.
I recently purchased an HP ZBook 15 G2 Core i7 512 GB SSD with Nvidia Quadro K1100M running Windows 10 64 bit. Bought it from Amazon as renewed.
I purchased it specifically to run Meshroom.
I downloaded Meshroom 2023.30 to it and went to run the sample Tree mesh. Photos transferred fine and the program started processing.
Unfortunately, the processing stopped because Meshroom could not find a CUDA-enabled GPU. Even though the Nvidia K1100 is CUDA- enabled 3.0.
The Nvidia driver the system is running is 426.25.This was the driver installed when I updated the laptop when I first received it.
I guess the new version of Meshroom is not compatible with this Nvidia driver. So I guess my question is what version of Nvidia driver would be compatible with Meshroom, or what version of Meshroom would be compatible with Nvidia? Or should I install an earlier driver and an earlier version of Meshroom?
I tried reaching out to Nvidia, but they were no help.
Thanks!
Ray

Hi Ray,

Does it mean that it failed on the DepthMap node?
Could you send the log file of the node in error?

On laptops, the GPU may be disabled by default (for the battery). You may need to enable it for Meshroom.
Quadro K1100M is supported, but most laptops these days have a dual GPU architecture, using both an NVIDIA GPU (dGPU) and an Intel graphics adaptor (iGPU) that are jointly performing the display tasks, in what NVIDIA refers to as an “Optimus” configuration. Optimus configurations frequently have the dGPU (the NVIDIA GPU) powered off. In this case, it won’t be visible to CUDA applications. You’ll need to figure out how to power it on. If you search for “optimus CUDA” you’ll find a lot of rel...

OK, I found out how to do a screenshot of the Meshroom log.  Here it is.

I doubt it. I wouldn’t know how to take a screenshot of it. The depth map/dialogue box is saying that it is not recognizing a CUDA-enabled GPU, even though the K1100 is installed. But I have a much more current version of Nvidia installed. That’s what I get for updating the ZBook when I received it. LOL

I guess what I’m asking is which version of Meshroom works best with what version driver for the K1100? Was there a standard driver used by HP for the GPU? I reached out to HP also, but they were no help either.
