Meshroom 2018.1.0 for Windows and Linux Released!

[AliceVision]

After a few weeks of multi-platform packaging, the first version of Meshroom/AliceVision is finally available for download on Windows and Linux.

Love the interface, the general workflow is great, and final models look lovely - congrats on the good work!

Any suggestions on speeding up DepthMap calculations?  I've tried changing Downscale and various Refine variables, but haven't managed to reduce time by much.

For what ever reason it wont allow me to drag and drop the files from the right to the drag/drop to the left. I just get a no smoking sign thing. . . any ideas?

Have you made any progress on speeding up DepthMap? I am an AliceVision newbie and also want to cut the DepthMap calculation time. Any help on this is appreciated.

I ran into this problem on two different occasions.. The first I had executed meshroom with the "run as administrator" option.. the second time i was trying to move images to it directly from storage of an attached camera.

Really impressed with Meshroom, been trying it out on a laptop and on my Mac (using parallels / Windows 10) ... Would preferred to use it on my Mac (high spec etc.) is there any plans to port Mushroom to Mac OS ?

It doesn't solve your problem directly, but have you thought of using bootcamp to run windows directly on the hardware to get best performance?

Hi Peter,

Yes I have done that, but the big down side is that we (as a family) can not use the Mac with Mac OS while booted up under Windows 10 ... as the models can take a long time to run ...which means we can not access the Mac as normal for other tasks / roles.  Just hope there will be a Mac OS version of Meshroom soon, as it is looking to be a step change on Agisoft Photoscan (student version).
