"New Empty Project" hangs forever.

Hello,

Hi everyone, my name is Dee, I'm a cg pipeline engineer, and this is my first post here \o/

tl;dr:
I'm looking for help on being able to open Meshroom ^_^' 

Here is my situation:

I am on Rocky Linix 9.4

I have downloaded and uncompressed Meshroom-2026.06.12-40fbd13-linux.tar.gz from https://github.com/alicevision/Meshroom/releases/tag/nightly 

I'm running "Meshroom -v trace" from the decompressed folder.

The UI shows after this error message:
"[2026-06-16 17:16:45.177][root][ERROR] Pipeline templates folder '/home/XXXXX.YYY/dcoureau/DEV/MeshRoom/fresh/Meshroom-2026.06.12-40fbd13-linux/aliceVision/share/meshroom' does not exist."

And these info messages:

Then I can click on the "New Empty Project" button, which then shows a circular progress.

At that point I see "QQmlComponent: Component is not ready" in the console, and nothing else is happening :(

The UI is still responsive (resize, hovers, etc...)
My cpu isn't doing anything

Clicking on the window's [X] button simply closes Meshroom without further informations.

I unfortunately can't download the 10Go of the 2025.1.0 version right now, so I can't tell if that's an issue with the nightbuild.

My questions are:
- Does any meshroom guru here sees an obvious reason for this fail ?
- What can I do to troubleshoot this situation ?

Hi Dee,

We started adding the nightly build a few days ago, and the Linux version still has some issues with the Qt installation. The plugin system also doesn't have an installer yet. So I highly recommend downloading the latest release, even though it's large in size. We are working on making it more modular, but it's not ready yet.

Hello Fabien,

We indeed managed to run the nightly on windows, and the latest release on Rocky 9.
I'll try to Franken-mix both in order to have the latest APIs.
