Dear All,
As per the directives issued by Reserve Bank of India (RBI), for Standardization and Enhancement of Security Features in Cheque Forms – Migrating to CTS 2010 standard. Non CTS 2010 Standards cheques should be withdrawn before December 31, 2012. Cheque Truncation System (CTS) 2010 standard is , set of minimum security features that would ensure uniformity across all cheque forms issued by banks in the country and also help presenting banks while scrutinising and recognizing cheques of drawee banks in an image-based processing scenario .
NON CTS2010 cheques deposited after 31 December, 2012 will not be honored by banks. This might lead to bouncing of the cheque
Hence you are requested to deposit CTS2010 compliant cheques only, failing which your cheque would not be honored by the bank post December 31,2012. You may please contact your bank branch for further details on CTS 2010 cheque books
A specimen copy of CTS2010 cheque is attached herewith.
For any queries, you can get in touch with your respective branch.
Regards,
