Legal remedies available on the Property Tax issue and how to use it |
Rajendra Thacker, president, Society for Fast Justice |
The Mumbai property law notices (the date for filing which has been extended to June) have confused people about their current and future financial implications. Each individual has received a separate notice and need to act on it separately. Rajendra Thacker, a veteran of many public interest litigations (PILs), has already filed a petition in connection with property tax in the Bombay High Court. Find out whether the issues raised will apply to you now and in the coming years, when the tax is proposed to be increased. Learn how to join the issue in the simplest possible manner. |
Rajendra Thacker, president of the Society For Fast Justice, is presently associated with several social organisations in Mumbai and is a full time social activist for the last 15 years. He is a BCom graduate from Bombay University and passed his Intermediate CA exam of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has worked as a financial controller in a garment export company. |
Mr Thacker has filed more than 12 PILs. Most of them have been admitted and good order pronounced by the Bombay High Court in public favor. He has contested Municipal Election in Mumbai in the year 2002 and Legislative Assembly Election in 2007 as an Independent Candidate. In 2009 he contested the general elections as a candidate of the Professionals Party of India. |
