Will you tell us what to work on?
Again, no. A large part of this project is to find something you are
interested in (at list interested enough to spend a week or two or).
What are examples of possible projects?
1) Read a paper related to what we studied, explain it in your words
and mathematical tools, and implement it
2) Implement two competing algorithms we studied (or didn't) and
compare between them.
3) Suggest an improvement/tweak/modification to something we learned,
explain why it "makes sense", and test it.
4) Apply an algorithm to an interesting large data set (there are
multiple large public data sets like wikipedia etc.)
5) Suggest a new interesting problem, explain why it is interesting
and why existing methods fall short.
6) anything you want that makes sense...
Should I get an approval on my project choice?
No, but you should probably consult with me. I would be happy give
references and other tips.
Please keep using this thread to ask question about the project, I
will try to keep answering.
