Torsdag d. 28/11 afholder Dansk Selskab for Datalogi et arrangment med foredrag af Martin Koch og Jesper Holm Olsen:

TITLE: "Issuu: Real world experiences of using computer science for a high traffic website”.

ABSTRACT: Issuu provides a distribution platform for print publications and viewers for a range of devices. Much like on YouTube, users can upload content and share links to a viewer that displays the content.

Issuu has more than 15,000,000 publications, serves over seven billion pages a month to 75 million unique monthly visitors, making Issuu one of the 500 most visited sites in the world. On average, 25000 new publications are added daily, and they are automatically categorized and fully searchable. The 8.5 million registered users can upload publications and create collections of their favorite publications found on Issuu and share them with other users.

In this talk we will dig into some of the inner workings of Issuu and describe how we draw upon different fields of computer science to make technology and user experience work together to drive a very high-traffic web-site.

Alle er velkomne.
